SWING TIME
With
Norm Vincent
Saturdays
2:00 - 4:00 PM
Veteran
broadcaster Norm Vincent hails from the Boston area, with
college in Ohio (Denison University), and 41 months as an active
duty Naval officer along the way, before arriving in
Jacksonville in September, 1956. He hosted WMBR Radio's
top-rated morning drive show, "Top O'The Morning" for a couple
of years, then moved into sales. In 1962 Norm assumed
management of WZOK in Jacksonville, leaving in 1966 to devote
fulltime Norm Vincent Sound Recording Studios, Inc. In the
spring of 1975 he was appointed director of Radio Operations for
Jacksonville's Public Radio Station, WJCT-FM, and it was here in
1976, when SWING TIME first hit the airwaves, with Norm
producing and hosting what has become important listening for
lovers of big bands and music of the swing era. In the mid
90's, SWING TIME moved to Jones College Radio, but due to format
changes Norm decided to relocate SWING TIME to radio station
WROS-AM (1050) and on the web site
www.wros.net . Norm is well-known for his smooth,
articulate and listener-friendly on-air presentation, always
letting "the music speak for itself." |
